I'm using MP3 Skype Recorder on Windows 10 Home 64 bit and noticed that when recording the application uses 1GB+ RAM. I was recording a conference call with 20+ participants and about 40 minutes into the call the application crashed. Windows had free RAM available, so that was not the problem. I noticed this high RAM usage before but usually usage was going up and down between 1000MB and 1100MB, like buffering and flushing a buffer. I could record longer conference calls with less people successfully with the same version of MP3 Skype recorder (version 4.29).
I also noticed that a same sized recording file was created with all participants' name whom the call was started with, instead of just one for the conference call. A zero sized file was created for participants that I added to the call later.
Also the recording did not start when I restarted MP3 Skype Recorder while the conference call was ongoing, after the crash. Maybe this is technically not possible.
Thank you for reporting. Will check this out.
Last month I left an error report in "Error reports", but I haven't seen any response. So I am reposting it here hoping you will be able to help.
Running MP3 Skype Recorder v4.28 on Windows 10 Home.
The program works fine for a while, then will stop responding and not record further calls.
When it hangs, there is a small (275 byte) ".id3tag" file in the recording folder.
It may be related to a adding a 3rd or 4th party to the call, but I have many successful multi-party calls recorded properly.
It used to work without fail, but I can't give you a definite version where it stopped working. It may be v4.26, but not sure.
Current Skype version is 126.96.36.199, but this has happened through many updates.
Thanks for your help...Paul
